Wanaka Bakpaka has just updated 4 out of 6 it’s rental fleet of mountain bikes for the 2012 – 13 summer season with new generation 29 inch wheel mountian bikes. We now have 4 Giant Talons and 2 Giant Boulders 29ERs.
The 29 inch wheels compared to standard 26 inch wheels allow you to travel faster around Lake Wanakas Bikes trails at a faster rate of pace with less effort from the rider. Check out the mountain biking website nzbybike.com

Wanaka Bakpaka has AGAIN been voted best backpacker hostel in Wanaka for 2011 by scoring a MASSIVE 91% rating from BBH. This rating was taken from over 4000 independent and well travelled guests that stayed with us in 2010 – 2011. What will Lonely Planet say abouts this year?
We are highly energenic and have pretty much got the hostel up to the best it can be and that is where we want to keep it, as one has to remember we are a hostel and not a lodge. We have views which are normally reserved for 5 star hotels and lodges but one things stays certain is that we will always be a backpacker hostel specialising excellent budget accommodation with the best facilities, atmosphere and views around town…
